# Magic Link

## What is a Magic Link?

A **Magic Link** is a password-free login method where a user clicks a **unique, time-sensitive link** sent to their email to log in instantly.

Within **Pocket HRMS**, it allows you to give a specific consultant temporary access to your HR portal **(Cloud or ESS)** while keeping your data protected.

**‘Magic Link’** gives you more control, transparency, and security when granting access to your Cloud or ESS portal for troubleshooting and support.

## Why Magic Link?

* Ensures compliance with the **Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023**
* Tracks and audits all changes made by consultants
* Reinforces Pocket HRMS’ commitment to **data privacy and security**

## How to Generate a Magic Link?

**Path:** Login to Cloud Portal > Help Icon (smHRt searchHR) > Generate Magic Link > Fill Details > Generate Magic Link.

**Step 1:** Login into your **Cloud portal** and click the **Help icon** next to **smHRt searchHR** Bar.

**Step 2:** Click **Generate Magic Link**.

**Step 3:** Fill in the pop-up form with details such as:

1. **Access Type:** Cloud or ESS portal
2. **Consultant Name:** Select the consultant
3. **Reason:** Enter the purpose of access
4. **Access Duration:** Hours, days, or weeks
5. **User Profile**: Select which user’s access is shared

**Step 4:** Click **Generate Magic Link.** The consultant will receive an email with a link.

&#x20;**Step 5:** The consultant clicks the link to access the portal.

**Step 6:** Access automatically **expires after the selected time.**
