# ESS Portal: Manager's Guide

### ESS Guide for Managers

Through approval matrix Admin can configure different managers for various modules such as leave, regularization, expense and more.

Whenever an employee submits any request the respective manger (The manager who has approval rights configured by the admin) will be notified about the same on an email as well as on their ESS. The manager can act (Approve/Reject) on these requests through

* ESS portal
* Email

According to the Pocket HRMS configuration the respective manager need to approve / reject the entries so the details will be updated in the system against the employee.

### Notification for Approval Requests

Once an employee submits any request their respective manager will receive notification about it in their ESS portal.<br>

You can view these notifications once you click on the ‘Bell’ icon at right-hand corner of the screen. Click on the notification to reach the respective approval page.

Checking for Pending Approvals

To approve a request, you need to follow the path for particular module for example,

* On duty

Leave > Approval > Approval > On Duty

* Attendance Regularization

Leave > Approval > Attendance Regularization

You can check on the ‘Details’ button

The manager may approve / reject multiple entries at a single go also.

### Email for Approval Request

Apart from the notification in the ESS, the manager will also receive an email notification for employee’s request. So, as a manager you can approve or reject reject requests from email itself.

On the successful approval or rejection of the request the respective employee will be notified about the same on their ESS as well as via email.

**Note**:

In the multi-level approval, the request will go to Manger 1 and only after approval it goes to Manager 2 and so on according your configurations made by the Admin.

**Checking Team’s Attendance**\
As a manager you may check the attendance details of you team through the below path:

1. Leave > My Team Report > Punch In Out Report
2. Leave > My Team Report > In Out Details *(Note , here the attendance data will be updated after processing of attendance)*
3. Leave > My Team Report > Monthly Attendance Summary

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.pockethrms.com/introduction-pockethrms-help-document/ess-beginners-guides/ess-portal-managers-guide.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
