# On Duty

**Introduction**

There are times when the employee needs to work from a location different from their normal physical office. In such a scenario, the employee still needs to punch their attendance and ‘On Duty Requests’ in Pocket HRMS helps them in applying for the same.

This section will cover an in-detail guide to the On Duty process in the following structure:

* Requesting On Duty
* Approving / Rejecting On Duty Requests
* Check Status
  * ESS
  * Mobile App
  * App Notification
* Cancel On-Duty Requests
* Reports

### **How to apply for on duty using ESS Portal?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS portal, select ‘Leave’ and then ‘Request’ from the left side menu.

**Step 2:** Select the ‘On Duty / Work From Home’ tab at the top.

**Step 3:** Select the ‘Start Date’ and ‘End Date’ as well as the corresponding ‘In Time’ and ‘Out Time’ in the 24-hour format. You can also enter any remarks if you wish so.

**Step 4:** Select the ‘Save’ button to apply.

### **How to apply for on duty using ESS Mobile App?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS mobile app, open the left side menu by tapping on the ‘Hamburger Menu Icon’ (3 Lines)  and select the option ‘Leave’.

**Step 2:** Tap on the option ‘Request’.

**Step 3:** Tap on the ‘On Duty / Work From Home’ tab at the top.

### **How to check on duty request’s status using ESS Portal?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS portal, select ‘Leave’ and then ‘My Report’ from the left side menu.

**Step 2:** Select the ‘On Duty’ tab at the top.

**Step 3:** Your previous on duty requests in the current year and their status are displayed here.

**Step 4:** If you wish so, you can select the relevant filters at the top and select the ‘Search’ button to find the status of a particular on duty request.

**Step 5:** You will also be able to find further details about a particular request by selecting the corresponding ‘Manager Remarks’ button.

### **How to check on duty request’s status using ESS Mobile App?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS mobile app, open the left side menu by tapping on the ‘Hamburger Menu Icon’ (3 Lines) and select the option ‘Leave’.

**Step 2:** Tap on the option ‘My Report’.

**Step 3:** Tap on the ‘On Duty’ tab at the top. You may have to scroll the tab section horizontally depending on your mobile screen size and resolution.

**Step 4:** Your previous requests in the current year are displayed here.

**Step 5:** If you wish so, you can select the filter button at the bottom right and select the relevant filters and then tap on the ‘Search’ button to find the status of a particular request.

**How to check on duty request’s status using ESS Mobile App Notification?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS mobile app, tap on the bell icon at the top right corner of the screen.

**Step 2:** You will be able to view whether your request has been approved or rejected based on the notifications titled ‘OnDuty Approved’ or ‘OnDuty Rejected’

### **How to cancel on duty requests from the ESS portal?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS portal, select ‘Leave’ and then ‘Request’ from the left side menu.

**Step 2:** Select the ‘On Duty / Work From Home’ tab at the top.

**Step 3:** You will be able to view the previously applied on duty requests at the bottom of the page.

**Step 4:** Select the ‘Delete’ button under the ‘Action’ column corresponding to the on duty request that you wish to cancel and select ‘OK’ on the pop-up to confirm your selection.

### **How to generate your own 'on duty' report from the ESS portal?**

**Step 1:** Log into the ESS portal, select ‘Leave’ and then ‘My Report’ from the left side menu.
